Introductory Activity In the beginning of the unit, students will be shown a large map of Pennsylvania. Students will work together to create a KWL chart filling out the ‘Know’ and the ‘Want to Know’ sections of the chart. To activate prior knowledge, students will be shown artifactsof the topics they will learn about in each lesson. The KWL chart will be later used to fill out the ‘learned’ portion of the chart so students can reflect on what they have learned and experienced about the state of Pennsylvania.

Lesson #10- Identify the symbols that represent the state of Pennsylvania.
Culminating Activity
Students will complete the KWL chart by filling in the ‘Learned’ portion.This will be a quick review before students take the Unit Quiz Assessment.
